Influenza and pregnancy results were published in the Journal of Infection.  The data was collected on a large cohort ( over 200,000 ) of pregnant women in Catalonia Spain.  Vilca et.al. reviewed outpatient visits and hospitalization rates from 2008-2013.  They found that pregnant women had higher rates of influenza associated events than non-pregnant women.  Second trimester women had the highest rates of influenza associated outpatient visits.  Third trimester women had the highest rates of influenza associated hospitalizations. Having any comorbidity was associated to an increased risk of influenza associated events.  2018-2019 Influenza Immunization recommendations
