Sanofi Pasteur announced yesterday their 4 strain (QIV) High Dose Influenza vaccine, Fluzone HD has been approved by the FDA. Fluzone HD is the senior flu vaccine, with 60 mcg/strain is approved for patients 65 years of age and older. This season’s Fluzone HD is TIV, however the much anticipated QIV version will be available for the 2020-2021 influenza season. Sanofi starts taking flu vaccine reservations for the following season in December and has a pre-book deadline near the end of March.
